A twelve-step program is a set of guiding principles outlining a course of action for recovery from a substance use disorder, compulsion, or other behavioral disorders. Support groups follow a different set of principals and do not involve a spiritual element. Everyone needs to investigate what kind of support group benefits them.
The following meetings are open groups held at Renz Center’s Two American Way location, unless specified otherwise.

NEW SUPPORT GROUP
Among Friends is a free support group for those who have a family member struggling with a substance use disorder. Meets Wednesdays, 5-6 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 256 E Chicago St, Elgin. Contact Nicole for more information or call 847-742-3545 x223.
